Student Scholarships

Every year, URW awards scholarships to outstanding high school seniors.

Awarding scholarships since 1985

As a not-for-profit credit union, URW is committed to social responsibility, so we select our recipients based not only on their academic achievements, but also on their passion for helping others.

Student Scholarships

Eligibility

  • Only URW members may apply. Accounts must be in the name of the applicant.
  • Applicants must be students with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Students must be a graduating high school senior.
  • All scholarship recipients must attend college full time. Post-graduate, Masters or Doctorate candidates are not eligible to apply.
  • Previous recipients may not apply for additional scholarships.

Selection Criteria

Scholarships are awarded based on a student’s academic performance and passion for helping others. Selection is made without regard to applicant’s race, color, national origin, religious belief, sex, marital status, age, or physical handicap.

How To Apply

Applications are accepted January – March each year. All information contained in your profile and scholarship application is secure and will not be used for any purpose other than to process your application.

As part of the application, you will be asked to provide:

  • Your personal contact information
  • URW account information
  • High school academic information
  • Community and school involvement, honors and awards, and work experience
  • 1000-word essay regarding community or school activities
  • High school records for high school seniors
  • One online recommendation from an instructor or supervisor
